BEST NEW ENTRY AWARD - THE GOOD FOOD GUIDE 2010
We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded The Best New Entry in The Good Food Guide 2010. Beating strong competition from the whole of the UK, we were chosen by the Editor of this prestigious guide, which has been published since 1951. We also scored the second highest mark in the whole of Merseyside which is an outstanding achievement and recognition of our passion and dedication.
Comments from the guide include "food that fills you with joy"; "Piero's instinctive cooking" and "obvious love" for ingredients; "portions are generous and prices reasonable" but you will have to buy the guide to read the rest!
MICHELIN GUIDE 2010
Another recognition of our hard work and consistency resulted in the inclusion in the Michelin Guide 2010. Another fabulous result for us.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our diners for their continued support and look forward to welcoming you as always.

Here at Da Piero we take great pride in offering authentic Italian cuisine in welcoming surroundings. We are committed to providing you with high quality food and service at all times.
Piero, from Sicily, is the only Chef and you are guaranteed consistently to find top quality dishes prepared to his high standards. He is just as passionate about wine as he is about food, in fact our wine list features many prize-winning Italian wines at very reasonable prices.
We continue to receive the highest accolade from Onion Ring website where Diners regularly vote for us as the top restaurant in the Liverpool/Wirral area. We are so proud of this achievement and would like sincerely to thank all our diners who took the time to leave reviews on the website for us at www.onionring.co.uk
Sourcing of ingredients: We are sourcing local products wherever possible. We have found a local supplier of succulent Welsh Lamb. Not happy with relying on others to deliver the quality Piero insists on, we can often be seen early morning visiting the farmer’s markets in the area! However, many of our ingredients (and all of our wines) still come from Italy and authentic dishes are guaranteed! For example, our sea salt is imported from the salt marshes in Trapani, Sicily.
Wine tasting: As we are both great believers in quality wines and the slow food movement we were recently chosen by the Italian winery Fanti to host 2 wine tasting evenings. These were a great success and these beautiful wines have now been added to our excellent wine list
Group bookings: We have specialised in catering for events in our restaurant since we opened. The menu can be tailor-made to suit your requirements - both for price per person and for dish choices. From as few as 14 people to a maximum of 18 the whole restaurant is yours for the event with no added charge. We are also quite happy to open at lunch times or earlier in the evening if your group prefers this. Just call Dawn at the restaurant to arrange an appointment to discuss your requirements and to read the testimonials from some of our customers who have organised events here.
Gift Vouchers: These are available on request and are for the amount you require. An excellent gift idea for lovers of Italian food!
Your Reservation: Although we are only a small restaurant we will not rush you to finish your meal - in fact your table is yours for the evening. If you are tired of restaurants with table time restrictions, treat yourself to an oasis of calm: relax and enjoy yourselves. Booking is highly recommended as we don't want to disappoint you but when we are full we are full! Please note we do not add a service charge to your bill and gratuities remain at your discretion.
We are very happy to have received so many positive comments and testimonials from you and we continue to strive not only to meet your requirements but to exceed them.
